Our Core Values

The Christian life is a journey, a pilgrimage - specifically, the Bible refers to it as a walk. Every walk has a starting point, and the starting point with God is faith (belief). In order to begin your journey with God you must first believe, and not only that he exists, but that he died for your sins. The Apostle Paul describes it with these words: "For we walk by faith, not by sight."

Application

Our Weekend Worship Services are designed to be our primary venue to help people make this first step of believing in Jesus Christ. Romans 10:17 tells us that faith comes from hearing the word of God. So it is our desire to always present the word of God in a clear and understandable manner.

Once a person believes in Jesus Christ they need the strength of other believers in order to deepen their walk with God. Community is a major theme throughout the Bible. It is IMPOSSIBLE to live the Christian life in isolation from others. God has given us a powerful network of other believers to help us hold fast to faith in the midst of life's storms. You will never be able to fully love and understand God with all your heart, soul, and mind without seeking and establishing intimate, caring, encouraging, and challenging relationships with other growing Christians.

Application

Small Groups are our intentional effort to create an atmosphere where genuine, authentic, and lasting relationships can form. In these groups believers can deepen their understanding and application of God's direction in their lives.

As a believer continues in their journey with God they also need to take steps to grow in their understanding of the Scriptures. As Jesus tells us in Matthew 4:4, the Word of God is the spiritual food that builds the muscle of faith. It is God's self-disclosure to humanity, and the primary way we come to understand the mind and will of God.

Application

Growing University is our primary venue for offering in-depth Bible studies throughout the year. We want to offer opportunities that allow for deeper study than is typically possible at Sunday morning worship or in a Small Group.

Jesus said, "The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve..." We believe that every believer has a unique PLACE in the Body of Christ. It is amazing to think that the same God who created the universe also loves us and has a plan for our lives. Jesus equips each of us for a purpose. Each of us is one-of-a-kind, and God wants to work through our lives to show His infinite loves to those around us. Everyone has a vital role to play and no job is a small one; from leading worship in a praise team to changing a diaper in the nursery.

Application

It is our desire to see every believer follow in Jesus' footsteps and serve one another. The primary way we seek to achieve this goal is to encourage everyone who attend CCC to be a part of a ministry team.

Through the story of the Good Samaritan Jesus opens our eyes to the needs of the world around us. Not only do we need to help and serve fellow believers but everyone who is in need, regardless of social status, race, or religious beliefs. We are called to demonstrate the love of Christ to all we encounter. In Matthew 28:18-20 Jesus gives us our life's primary mission. It makes no difference if our mission field is a foreign country, or work place, or simply across the street. We are to love, serve, and care for those in our lives in hopes that they we see Jesus in our lives, hear us speak of Him, and ultimately be drawn to Him.

Application

It is our goal to provide numerous mission opportunities for those who attend at CCC. Acts 1:8 tells us that we are Jesus' witnesses in our local communities, the world, and everything in between. We try to provide mission opportunities at each level; from our Food Pantry at the local level, to our several foreign mission partnerships in India and Chile.
