College Ministry: Panel Discussion

Why is there evil in the world? Can I trust my Bible? How should Christians interact with culture? These are all questions looming large on our college campuses. We want to help both college students and rising seniors begin to wrestle with, and form answers to, these questions. Most importantly, we want to begin the conversation from a Biblical worldview. On July 25, 2012 the College Ministry at Christ Community Church will be hosting a panel discussion on these very issues. We have invited 3 professors from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a few of our faithful students to come and give a clear picture of how college students can retain a growing faith on their campus. After our panel discussion, we will open the floor for questions. If you are a college student, or rising senior, we would love for you to join us at 6:30PM for supper before the panel. Coming up in Celebrate Recovery – Barbeque!

Celebrate Recovery is a ministry of Christ Community Church that exists to help those with any habit, hurt, or hangup. CR has a reputation for being a place for recovering alcoholics. We are that, but we are so much more than that. CR is a place for people who want to learn how the Gospel transforms lives and frees us from the enslaving power of sin, and CR is a place to find frank accountability with other believers. So, if you’d like to visit CR to see what we are all about, we meet every Thursday night from 7:00PM to 9:00PM in the Fellowship Hall at CCC.

Father-Son Weekend, June 9 at the Beanstalk Journey in Morganton, NC

Father-Son Weekend, June 9 at the Beanstalk Journey in Morganton, NC

It will be a full day of action and adventure for fathers and sons (ages 4 and up). In the evening we will have a large private-room dinner where we will affirm our boy(s) with short professions of appreciation and expectation in the presence of other fathers and sons. Details of these plans and websites for the locations are attached to the bottom of this post.

We need reservation information by THURSDAY, MAY 31st. As you will see in the attached details, there are significant discounts if we make reservations for the Zip Line Course and the hotel (hotel rates to be confirmed when I have a firm number.)

Let us know:
# of men that will participate in the Zip Line Course
# of boys that will participate in the Zip Line Course (ages four and up)

# of men that will eat dinner
# of boys that will eat dinner

# of men that will stay at Hampton Inn
# of boys that will stay at Hampton Inn (guys are encouraged to double up with others)

Reservations are not required for other attractions and park activities, including climbing wall, bike trail, Frisbee golf, canoe rental, and more.

IMPORTANT: Please invite any and all fathers and son(s) you know well that may have an interest in joining us. They do not have to be Christ Community Church Members or graduates of the Raising a Modern Day Knight class.
