NEW MEMBER CLASS this Sunday, Oct. 2nd  at 4PM

“Introduction to our church family”

You were designed to be a part of a church family. And that’s exactly what CCC is intended to be – your family.  A healthy family has common beliefs, purposes and commitment. That’s why at Christ Community we want to share with you what we believe and where we’re going.

God wants all of us to grow in worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry, and evangelism. We use the words BELIEVE, CONNECT, GROW, SERVE and GO!  It’s by balancing those five purposes that we truly live out God’s plan for our life.  More than anything else, the CCC family wants to come alongside  you and help you grow in all five of these areas.

Our NEW MEMBER CLASS is the basic introduction to our church family and is designed to clearly explain who and what our church is.  It is broken into four sessions covering:   Our Salvation, Our Statements, Our Strategy and Our Structure.  I teach the first half of the class and Alan Higgins teaches the second half.  At the end, there will be an opportunity for you to decide whether to complete the process by completing a Membership Application or you may choose to wait and decide at another time. No pressure whatsoever, we want you to be comfortable with whichever you choose. I hope to see YOU this SUNDAY at 4PM!  No reservations necessary, just show up at 4 and we’ll take care of the rest!

Blessings,

Pastor Jack

Update from Romania – Josh & Melissa Essman, CCC Missionaries on the field!

Wednesday, September 28th, 2011 by Jack Homesley
“Are you a Mila or a Lola?”
Hey guys,
FYI twice a month we will be sending an email and a blog update.  The blog will give you a look at what we are physically doing here in Romania and prayer requests and the email will be more of a spiritual update and things God has brought up since the last email.
Have you ever watched a believer in Christ who was on fire for God?  It didn’t matter who they were speaking to.  It didn’t matter if that person was African American, Caucasian, Latino, Chinese, African, etc.  Whether or not they were Catholic, Atheist, Unitarian, Buddhist, Orthodox, or Muslim.  The light of Christ was glaringly obvious and it made everything around him or her shine with the light of Christ.  Have you ever seen those people?  Have you ever been that person?  Can you imagine the impact you might have or do have?  How easy or difficult would that be to commit yourself to such joy!?
On the other hand, have you ever watched a believer in Christ who was struggling with their faith?  I’m not talking about the person who questions what he or she believes, I’m talking about the believer who attends church every Sunday and is critical of what he or she thinks about the sermon or worship time or offering.  Maybe you have seen those people, maybe you were that person at one point?  You see the one who questions is in a better position that the one who criticizes.  The latter does not seek answers and solutions and is therefore luke warm; we all know what the Bible speaks of luke warm people…Which one do you want to be?
You might be wondering why I titled this email, “Are you a Mila or a Lola?”  As we moved into our new home here in Romania we have two dogs now,  Mila and Lola.  Mila is spit-fire!  She knows no stranger and loves without condition.  Lola is the opposite, she is very critical of everyone until you PROVE to her your intentions.  My challenge to you is simple…(or is it)….to treat others as you would want to be treated and love your neighbors/subdivision/community as yourself.  If you look in the book of Acts, the name Christian was first used.  If you read it carefully you will notice that people didn’t call themselves Christians but outsiders and those who did not know Christ called the believers Christians!
Jesus says in John 13:34-35, ” A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.  By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”  They will know us by our love…let this resound like a crashing symbol throughout your week and show the love of Christ at work and to everyone around you!  Be a Mila!!

Missions Update from Africa!

UPDATE FROM THE FIELD from TRENT & CARMEN POST
Hello family and friends!! Just wanted to give you a few updates of what has been going on.  We thank you for your prayers they have gotten us through some rough times.  Know that HE has given us peace and comfort all it all.  We are exactly where HE wants us to be and that for us is perfect.  We are finally settled in our home and it feels great. We are serving HIM ALL-OUT everyday in every way with each person HE puts in our paths.

UPDATES:

CAR: we got our car fixed and it wasn’t the problem we originally thought. We were able to get it fixed for a reasonable price and GOD sent an honest ethiopian man our way.  He was so completly fair that we gave him more than he asked. His name is Sammy and we will be keeping him around as our mechanic.  We had another issue with our car a week later where the key wouldn’t come out of the ignition and it wouldn’t go into park. It was a hectic few hours for us but Sammy came and fixed it with no charge because he said we took care of him and provided enough money where he could celebrate New Years with a chicken meal. GOD is so good. the enemy has tried to get us down through silly things such as the car but he has no power.

HOUSE: The kids have gotten their beds and they are enjoying them. We are still living out of bins as we await the furniture that is being made.  Our pressure for the water is off a bit except on Friday and Saturday so that is when I enjoy washing my hair. The rest of the time we are possibly taking cold showers b/c the pressure will not allow the hot water to come through. Not all the time but most of the time. We are getting no consistency. Power is off frequently but because of one of our supporters we are able to buy a generator.
We currently have 3 girls living with us that are a part of our family. 1 of them lived with us last year. Pray for them by name please Amellawork, Jerri, Lucy. U will learn more about them in the upcoming months.

Kids: Gavin and Kiki have officially started homeschool as of today. Its nice and quite and they are doing well. I may just love this time with my babies!!

Ministry: We have taken Abduls sister to the doctor for Kidney issues (she is now on antibiotics) we have taken Abduls mom to the dr 2 times. She is a widow and has 6 children we want to come along side her and help her open a shop to sale injera (staple food) so that she can take care of her babies. We will do this through a micro loan. If you would like to help with this let us know. But we must get her healthy first. If you would like to know more about this family please go to my facebook page under notes and u will see all about how GOD crossed our paths last summer. Belay is training in the mountains. He wants to be in the Olympics next year. We led Him along with Abdul to JESUS last summer. Belay will probaly start to live with us after his training. GOD has called us to come along side and help him to achieve his dreams of becoming a great runner. Hopefully this week will be opening our first boys home so excitiing!! please pray with us through this. At the present we have several rooms that are rented for the boys. We were able to go and give out over 420 notebooks and school supplies, clothes and shoes due to a friends giving. Thank you for allowing us to serve the least of these through your giving. What a privilege.

FAMILY: Tuesday is family day for us and all day it will be just our family no matter what. Every other Friday we will have a date night just Trent and I. It’s getting better as we settling in a little bit and everyday is fully focused on getting something for the house. We’re eating at our table every night (all 8 of us, except Tuesday’s) and haveing our family devo’s in the morning so things are good.

PRAYER:

- Les & Maxine (head of Organization)  are leaving in two weeks for the US, they will be there for two months. We will be in charge and be given authority to make the calls while they’re gone; kind of the throw em’ in the deep end and learn to swim mentality. Pray for God wisdom as we learn by experience.

- Unity, peace and protection of over our family

- Jesus be seen and glorified through it all

We have a blog going at   alloutforhim.wordpress.com      So go to our site and subscribe so you can follow more of our day to day experiences.

ALL-OUT!
