NEXT STEPS

What’s Your Next Step?

In the book of 2nd Peter, the Apostle leaves his readers with these instructions: “Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” (2 Peter 3:18) No matter where you are, there’s always a next step. None of us are done learning, changing, and growing. Whether you’re still exploring faith or have been a Christian for 50 years, we want to help you take your next step.

At Christ Community, we call those next steps your Growth Track. There are four steps on the Growth Track: Worship, Belong, Invest, and Multiply. While these don’t represent all there is to the Christian life, they are significant milestones that generally lead to a well-rounded follower of Christ.

Follow Christ and gather with His people.

The first step is to commit to worshiping with us on Sundays. Today, there are so many events and activities vying for our time and attention. It take resolve to choose to gather to worship each week. We would invite you to make Sunday morning worship your highest priority event each week. If at all possible, don’t let anything stand in the way.

Our prayer is that you would not only worship on Sundays but that you would worship the Lord in all of life. Ultimately, this means trusting Christ for salvation and making your entire life an act of worship (Romans 12:1-2).

Join a small group.

When we put our faith in Christ, we become a part of God’s family (Romans 8:16-17). For this reason, it’s important that we do more than attend church. God calls us to belong. The gospel should be the centerpiece of deep friendships and should also lead us to take ownership of our church. At CCC, we encourage everyone to find and commit to a small group. In groups, you’re able to study the scriptures, pray, fellowship, and be encouraged in a setting where you know others and are known by them.

Find a place to serve.

Our prayer is that the members of Christ Community wouldn’t simply be hearers of the Word, but doers also (James 1:22). This means not just receiving, but also investing into the ministries of our church. Investment giving your time, talents, and treasure in order that we might reap spiritual rewards (Matthew 9:37). Those who invest in CCC are serving in ministries, leading groups, and making disciples.

Multiply

God has not called us to simply build His church here in Huntersville, NC. He’s called us to multiply our impact all over our region, nation, and the world (Acts 1:8). To that end, we want to be a church that multiplies our impact through local, national, and international missions. We want to see pastors sent out to plant churches. We’re praying for missionaries to commit their lives to advancing the gospel abroad. We encourage our members to multiply their impact by going on a mission trip or joining a church plant.
