How We Do Missions
Jesus said in Mark 16:15, "Go everywhere in the world and tell the good news to everyone."
In Matthew 28:18-20 Jesus gave the Great Commission to all Christians: 18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.
Our Vision at Christ Community Church
Our vision is to lead 1000's of people to faith in Jesus Christ, to develop them to maturity in Christ and then to send them on mission for Christ.
Our Vision/Mission Statement
CCC is a place where the lost are actively sought, won to Jesus, and developed into Christ-like, church planting missionaries.
Our Strategy
We believe that the best way to accomplish our vision is church planting. Church planting provides us with a virtually unlimited potential to reach people for Christ. Our goal is to plant 100's of new churches around the world by the year 2030. We will plant a few churches in our area by sending young pastors into a community where they will begin a new church. Most will be planted by mission teams and missionaries serving all around the world. We presently have two career missionaries in Asia working among a people group of over 5 million. Ninety-eight percent of those people have never heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In the three years that they have served there over 40 new house churches have been started! Every new church they help plant in Asia is a victory for CCC and the cause of Christ! The more mission teams and missionaries we send, the more churches we plant! We need more missionaries! Our spiritual growth process will produce more missionaries.
Our Spiritual Growth Process
Believe, Connect, Grow, Serve, Share! The more people we lead through this spiritual growth process, the more people who will go. The more people who go, the more churches we plant. The more churches we plant, the more people we lead to faith throughout the world!
Our spiritual growth process enables us to carry out our mission strategy; our mission strategy enables us to see our vision become reality.
Jesus provided a great strategy to accomplish the Great Commission. In Acts 1:8 He gave a missions strategy that is small enough for your next door neighbor and expansive enough to reach the world. His mission strategy is our mission strategy. It applies both personally to individual believers and corporately as a church.
Acts 1:8 "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."
The Lord gives four levels or areas of mission participation that He wants each of us to be involved in throughout our lifetimes. Our mission strategy is to look for opportunities to be on mission in each of these areas. Let's look at them a little more closely.
- Jerusalem: Start where you are: your family, your friends, your co-workers, your neighbors. That's your Jerusalem.
- Judea: What is our Judea? North Carolina - 12 million people. What are you doing to reach the people of North Carolina? What is my "Judea" strategy?
- Samaria: We can look at "Samaria" as our nation. America needs to hear my witness. How can I be actively involved in telling the unreached people of America the Good News of Jesus Christ? What is my "Samaria" strategy?
- The ends of the world: Today, going to the ends of the world is a legitimate opportunity for everyone at CCC. How will you take the Gospel to the ends of the earth? Jesus said we "shall be witnesses" in each of these areas. We want every member of CCC to be involved at some level in each of these four areas. It is Jesus' strategy, therefore it is our strategy.
